TVAI is a community and not-for-profit initiative supported by the University of Reading and powered by a coalition of regional partners from business, academia and local government.
We exist to accelerate responsible AI adoption, attract talent and investment, ensure the benefits of AI are shared across our region and beyond, and to position the Thames Valley as a global leader in AI.

Our Story
Founded by a group of passionate technology practitioners and researchers in the Thames Valley, TVAI emerged from a simple observation: our region was home to incredible AI talent, technology enterprises, and innovation, but lacked a central hub to bring everyone together.
What started as informal meetups has grown into a vibrant community of hundreds of members, from students taking their first steps in machine learning to business leaders exploring what AI means for their organisations.
Today, TVAI hosts regular events, workshops, and networking opportunities, while also advocating for responsible AI adoption and supporting regional startups and research initiatives. We're proud to be the home of AI in the Thames Valley.
